BOY!!!
We are very excited to be having a little boy around! My belly is growing and the pregnancy is going well. More news in this household, our baby boy will be born in Spokane, Washington. Devin got an internship there starting in April so we will be moving for a few months. We are very excited to go somewhere new and Devin is looking forward to having a great learning experience.

*If anyone knows of someone looking for an apt in Rexburg, let me know because we need to sell our lease!!!*

Blog Worthy?

Well, once again i've neglected this blog which is probably o.k. considering I don't think anyone checks this blog because they know they can check every 6 months and be just fine. Most the time I just feel like I don't have anything important to share and then when something does come up.... well, I can't think of a good enough excuse. So a few pictures to get you few readers out there caught up on what we've been up to. My camera has also been neglected so although we've done much more this is all you get.

I graduated in December with my Bachelors in Health Science.
We spent Christmas in Washington with both our families, Devin and my little brother Carson caught this huge raccoon.

And finally, I present to you Baby Lybbert! I am due August 2nd and we are very excited, especially when the nausea isn't present. I know this next picture looks like this child has a very long nose but don't worry that is it's hand poking up.

Well that is all I have for today, I would say I would be better at posting in the future, but most likely I won't post again for another 6 months. So I wouldn't get your hopes up.

The Amazing Janae Calaway

Last night my littlest sister competed for the title of Miss Tri-Cities Outstanding Teen. She was amazing and took by breath away everytime she was on the stage. Janae ended up getting 1st runner up but we are sure it was very close between her and the winner.

Flower Candy Box

This semester I am taking a confectionary (candy making) class and my midterm project had to be some sort of candy box that is completely edible, I also had to make the candy to go inside. You may think it is ugly, but I don't care because it was a lot of work and I am very proud of it. It is made of pulled sugar and as said earliar completely edible.

The candy inside is Divinity, Coconut Brittle and a Brown Sugar Caramel.

Last weekend we went to check out the Wolf to Woof museum in Idaho Falls. Devin and I are definitely not animal lovers so we laughed at all of the 'save the dogs' stuff but other than that it was pretty interesting. Here is Devin sporting his dog ears.

Bountiful Basket

Have you heard of bountiful baskets. I heard about them from someone at school and thought I would buy one and see what it was like. They are $15.00 and comes with about a laundry basket full of fruits and vegetables. Here is what we got...

We like to have fresh fruits and vegetables in the house but it is hard when you are on a college student budget, trying to decide if this is a good deal. What do you think?

Cakes

I have been a little too busy to update as you have probably noticed. I have made 3 more cakes and I have been getting very excited about the improvement I've made. Here they are...Enjoy.

Not my style, but it was a requirement for the class. Everything you see I made, the bird, butterflies and all the flowers.

Valentines Weekend

Saturday night I got a call from my Mom saying that they were coming to visit. I was so shocked. They arrived Sunday and joined us for Valentines Sunday dinner and Janae' and I made a Valentines cake, which turned out really cute. Monday we decided to take a little road trip to Jackson Hole where we walked the town, took the classic picture under the antler arch and went Ice skating. Here's a few pics from our fun weekend.

Shopping Online

I have never been much of an online shopper but recently I made two online purchases. The first one was a power cord for my computer because mine broke. I ordered it from Amazon and knew it would take a few days to get here, then I got an e-mail saying they were on back order so it would take an extra week or two... no big deal. Well, I got it in the mail, and guess what, it is not the right cord. I know I ordered the right one because the invoice has the correct item on it, but the cord I got is not right. Next, I ordered Devin a Coach money clip for valentines day, which I was very excited about and could not wait to surprise him with, since he has been wanting one. It was delivered and I hurried to open it to check out my awesome purchase and I found a small purse..... not what I was expecting, not even close. So I checked my invoice and sure enough I ordered the right item, I was just shipped the wrong thing! grrr. So I had to tell Devin what he was supposed to get. I checked the price tag on the purse and it was twice as much as the money clip... so if I was a dishonest person I might just keep the bag... but I won't be doing that. Does anyone else have bad luck shopping online?

Cake Decorating

This semester I am in a cake decorating class, which is probably my favorite class. I have made two cakes so far. Here is the first one, which is extremely ugly but it was my first time so cut me some slack. My parents were going to Hawaii the day I made it so it was for them. (the icing was an ocean blue color but it came out green in the picture)

This next one I love, it is more of a mans cake.

I am no professional but I am having a fun time learning. Keep posted to see my improvement!

I guess I forgot a blog is something you are supposed to update frequently. Since my last post we have had many new adventures. Here is a month by month run down of what we've been up to (this is mostly for my own record, so go ahead and ignore this post if you don't care to much about what we've been doing): I hate long blog posts but I typed all this up before I realized how long it was so I am leaving it but I apologize for the long post ahead of time.
July 2009:

We took another spontaneous trip on a four day weekend and saw many new things. Destination: Mt. Rushmore What we saw/did on the way: Church sites in Wyoming (Willies Site and Martins cove), one of the largest coal mines in N. America, Mt. Rushmore (AMAZING), ate the best meal at a restaurant called 'enigma' ,saw a lot of road, oil drills and ranches while driving through Wyoming. We also went through Yellowstone again on the way back because we love it so much. Overall rating of trip: A whole lot of fun.
At the end of July ended the semester successfully, packed up all of our stuff and moved from Rexburg back to our farm house in Pasco to work for the fall.

August 2009:

Lybbert Family trip to Priest Lake with a week full of family and fun, including the celebration of my 20th birthday.
Devin and I celebrated our 1 year anniversary with a candle lit dinner prepared by myself.
Came back to the real world and got to work. Devin worked for my Dad on the farm and I worked at Angus Square Dental Clinic for the Harkers.

September 2009:

Devin and I were called to be Primary workers teaching the 6-7 year olds. I also was called to be an activity day assistant to my amazing aunt Wendy.
I spent a good amount of my time canning grape juice and peaches.

October 2009:

Devin had a good friend from work, Victor a.k.a Guatemala, get baptized into our church. We had a great time being involved in the discussions with the missionaries and the baptism.
I agreed to fill in for Sis. Carroll as Choir director while she had heart surgery(yes, I had 3 callings). I doubted myself and was stressed going into it but came to greatly enjoy it and gained an experience that I will never forget.
My younger sister Karalee got engaged. Which was quite the shocker.

November 2009:

I took a trip with my mom and sisters to Utah to go wedding dress shopping for Karalee and for a weekend of fun
Had a wonderful Thanksgiving at Chelsea and Kyle's along with Kyles family and Devins parents.
I braved the crowds @ 3:30 am on black friday with my little sister Janae'. It was worth the early morning alarm once we got some good deals.

December 2009:

Threw my sister a bridal shower where we enjoyed some good food, laughs, gifts and fun decorations.
My sister got married on the 22nd in the Columbia River Temple, followed by a beautiful reception. Go here for pictures (password KJ).
Enjoyed our 2nd Christmas morning together. We exchanged gifts and spoiled eachother. We then made a santa delivery to my mom from my dad and watched my mom peel out of the drive way in her new ride. The rest of the day was spent at the Woodwards where endless entertainment always takes place. I felt like a kid again while I helped Chander and Carson put together a 900 piece star wars lego set.
Enjoyed a week at Priest Lake with my family, minus the newlyweds. We filled our week with games, movies, eating, sleeping, riding razors and SKIING. Yes, Skiing for the first time. I have never been and I had a blast, Devin says I was pretty good for my first time but I wouldn't know.
New years was enjoyed at home while trying to keep our eyes open til midnight while watching Monsters Vs. Aliens, which was hillarious.

January 2010

We packed up our house once again, said our goodbyes and moved back to Rexburg to get another year of school under our belts.
Started the winter semester with motivated attitudes. ( We will see how long these attitudes last)
Devin was called as the 1st counselor in the Elders Quorum Presidency.
I accidentally gave Devin a bald looking spot while cutting his hair, whoops!

Well, that's what has been happening in this Lybbert house. Sorry I have no pictures, cause everyone loves pictures. I will try to do better with my blogging.

We had a four day weekend a couple weeks ago so Devin and I decided we would pack up, get in the car and then decide which way to go and see where we ended up. Heres a few pictures from our journey.

WARNING! Beware of step stools.
Tonight I tripped over one of these bad boys in the library. I'm not sure how it got to the side of my chair when I stood up to walk away but I stumbled right over it and got a good bruise on my knee. As I laid there thinking whether I should laugh or cry I looked up to see a few people smiling and trying to hold back their laughs, including Devin. I limped away and once we got out of the 'quiet area' Devin exclaimed how hilarious it was and how fast I hit the ground. Well, all I have to say is 1.) my knee hurts 2.) that makes the top 5 of my most embarrassing moments and 3.) I'm going to walk around the library staring at the floor from now on.

What we've been up to

Long time no post not much has happened other than we're in Rexburg trying to enjoy the cold and the wonderful studying that comes along with going to school. Here's a few of my favorite pictures from leaving Pasco, our journey to Rexburg and some of what we've been doing since we've been here.

Leaving our lovely home in Pasco... we really miss it, but love our new place too.

On our way to Rexburg we stayed in Boise at Devins aunt and uncles and we went to church on Sunday but Devin forgot to put his dress shoes in the car and all he had were his work boots. So, we waited till sacrament was starting, snuck into the back and left during the closing hymn. It was pretty hillarious

First Day of school

Candace and Cody came up a while ago and stayed with us over the weekend. We had a lot of fun.

For Valentines Day we went out to Olive Garden, well we went the night before because we knew it would be crazy on Valentines. On the actual Valentines day we had a couple from the ward over and we made homemade pizzas and played some games. Unfortunately we didn't take any pictures. Other than that not too much is going on here, just trying to keep up with all the homework and tests.

Uncontrollable Giggles

Tonight, as Devin and I were having our family scripture study he kept correcting me saying I said the wrong word. I kept refusing saying, "thats what I said," and he would once again correct me. Finally, he burst out laughing because I really was saying the right words and he was just correcting me to make me think I was going crazy. After this our laughs and giggles were uncontrollable, which made for a very interesting prayer(which of course I was asked to give).

We woke up to a wonderful surprise this morning, an 1/8" of snow. Anyone who has lived in the Tri-Cities their whole life finds this exciting. Probably because that usually meant school was either delayed or cancelled. I dared Devin to run around our house barefoot and he said, "ok, but only if you do it with me." I agreed(i was even the first one out the door).

This is proof that we did it barefoot!(and that bigfoot knocked on our door this morning in his basketball shorts)

Don't you love how we still have our pumpkin on our porch...we really like Halloween.

We are looking forward to the many cold days in Rexburg.

Life on the farm

About a month ago we left to Spokane for a couple of days, we came back to a car full of mice that we left back home. Here are a couple of pictures showing the damage (to fully appreciate the destruction, you would have to have been there).

The white blob in the back of the trunk is a mouse nest made of an entire toilet paper roll that they got from the cab of the car and also some of Devin's shop towels. It was about a foot wide and a foot long in size.

We took everything out of the car and Devin set six traps, one in the hood of the car, one in the trunk of the car, and four in the cab. We left for a couple of hours to go into town and when we came back all of the cheese was eaten off of the traps and none of them had been set off.

So we got this...

Her name is killer and she has been doing a fantastic job of keeping those mice in their rightful state...dead.

It has been a while since my last post but life has been very busy. We are now married as of August 12th and are enjoying the married life(hopefully i'll have some pictures soon)!! For our Honeymoon we went to the Cameo Heights Mansion in Touchet and had a blast, it was very relaxing and alot of fun. After all of the wedding festivities we went to work on our home for the next few months which is a little farm house that is on one of my dads farms. When we (well devin) first started working on it all there was was tile and a shower along with a toilet and a roll of carpet sitting in the bedroom. Well with a little TLC we've turned into a cozy little home for ourselves and the mice that enjoy our cars, apples and mouse bait, but thats a post for another day! Devin has been working for my Dad on the farm as the exterminator killing the gophers(he really loves his job;)) and I have been working @ Angus Square Dental as a hygiene assistant. Life is great and we are looking forward to going back to school @ Byu-I in January... well that is if we can find housing, I have spent the past 2 days looking and calling every complex in rexburg and everyone is booked and has mile long waiting lists. So if anyone knows of anything that doesn't cost an arm and a leg let us know.... or else we will be living in a box(which we might end up in anyways by the looks of prices on apts. these days). Well I have lots of stuff to write about and lots of pics to post so hopefully it doesn't take me another 4 months to do so.

The Proposal

So, I know this happened about 3 months ago but I thought it would make a good post. In April Devin and I were home for spring break and on the 11th (the day after we got home) Devin gave me a call... well about 10 calls trying to get a hold of me but i was out working in the yard with the family so we didn't hear the phone. Finally, after someone decided to go hide out in the house away from all the work( janae) Devin got a hold of me and asked me if i wanted to go with him to his grandmas house to help her with a few things. I said yes and went inside to make myself look somewhat decent from being all dirty and sweaty from pulling weeds but i didn't have much time since Devin said he was only a couple minutes away. We got into the car and drove to his grandmas house and he told me she might not be there because she had to go to the church to get something... we knocked.. and she wasn't there.. so we went for a walk up the hill. We walked through the orchard an up to the canyon that over looks the river, its so beautiful up there. I gave Devin a hug and since im so short(actually i like to look at it as he's so tall) my head was right at his chest and i could hear is heart beating very hard, now i look back and realize how dumb I am because i thought he was just tired from walking up the hill, haha. We stood there for a while, i was standing in front of him looking out at the view and he stepped in front of me and.... well i dont really remember exactly what he said because I was in such shock but he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him! I told him, "get up, get up" and then I told him yes! Then he told me his grandma was out of town, i should of known that since his cousin Tyler was getting married that day in Utah....I'm so gullible. Anyways, we walked down the hill and went into his grandmas house while i expressed how surprised and shocked i was and Devin told me about his terrifying interview he had with my dad that morning. Thats probably the long version of the proposal so sorry for such the long post. Enjoy the pics!!

The Story of Devin and Kendra

The sweet story of Devin Lybbert and Kendra Calaway (soon to be Lybbert).

In June of 2007, Devin was on the hunt to find a mate. He looked aroung Pasco and asked a girl out who did not quite satisfy his taste. Then he spotted Kendra at the Wright's. She happened to be on a date with another boy, however he knew that that boy was no competition. The next Sunday, Devin saw Kendra at the Wright's once again. This time he went in for the kill. He arranged a date and they hit it off. They saw eachother nearly every night from then on.
